One more step towards our goal of creating value for everyone who uses Unit Protocol.
The qDUCK smart contract uses the protocol treasury to buy DUCK tokens from the open market at set intervals of time, and then adds them to the qDUCK pool so the profits can be distributed to DUCK stakers.
So far, Unit Protocol has generated a total of 4,947,985 USDP. You can see stats on fees at the community-run quackprofits.xyz website.

20 July 2020 – White paper released. Unit Protocol begins. Following the massively successful lockdrop event, we've spent the past few months working on one of the key parts of our system. Today we are ready to introduce Unit Protocol – a decentralised borrowing protocol that allows users to obtain liquidity from a large variety of tokens by minting USDP stablecoin. The COL token will still be used as an additional collateral for any debt created in the system and its distribution parameters will stay the same. You can take a look at our new site at https://unit.xyz/.
We came to the realisation that our previous name ‘The PayCash’ did not capture the core concept of the project. Concentrating human and financial resources on a decentralised borrowing protocol will allow us to speed up development and release the product sooner. We are excited to share a draft version of our whitepaper today, and we are looking forward to your feedback.
Right now, most of the contracts are finished and the protocol is nearing the internal testing stage. When we are confident that things work as we want them to, we will be ready to deploy the contracts to testnet along with a simple Dapp interface and ask our community to check it out. During that stage, we are going to iterate on a user-friendly interface for the Dapp and get everything ready for a code audit.
